Pipes and water

Shane has developed a new habit. Cold showers. Yes, it's true! When we returned from our latest trip to get a new visa we discovered the hot water in our building was off. We did the old "boil water, mix it in a bucket and pour it over yourself" routine, but it was tedious. So 6 mornings ago Shane decided that he'd brave showering the way many Russians do. It was amazingly invigorating! I am now hooked on this. If any of you want to try it, I suggest starting with the waist and down first before washing your head and hair. By the time you get to the top your body will be more ready.

Pipe-wise, we have none at the moment. It seems the hot water pipe burst 2 floors down. We have had workmen in all morning removing the pipes from all floors (5). It was about 1 inch in diameter, but it was so full of crud there was an opening barely the width of a pen for the water to flow through. No wonder the hot water pressure was also so low.
