Happy New Year! This weekend is the Lunar new year weekend, and here in Singapore everyone is happy and ready to celebrate. The weather has been wonderful, and the location of where we are staying is perfect. There is an outdoor childrens' play area that puts anything in Canada to shame, and Liberty has so much fun playing there and making friends with the other kids. Since this is Singapore, practically all the kids know English, whether Chinese, Indian, Sri Lankan, so it makes it possible for Liberty to really make friends.
There is also a "coffeeshop" in the same area, but it is essentially an outdoor food court for the apartment building complexes around here. So Shane has enjoyed eating outdoors, looking at the sky, watching Liberty.
Michelle has been a hit with the mother and nannies here. She is the only white person, but language is again no barrier. She has met many other women while they are all at the playground with the kids. She is at this moment at the nearby shopping mall doing some reading at a Starbucks.
Urumqi. We do miss you. Really.
